FALL | Published September 8, 2020

When I built my picture ledge shelves earlier in the year for my living room, I did it knowing this was an area that I wanted to be able to keep fresh changing the decor often with different seasonally appropriate art and accessories. So when sitting down to do some fall planning, one of the areas I focused most was these narrow shelves.
Earlier, I had come across a quote that seemed so appropriate for this year and while I wanted to include it, a framed phrase just wasn't enough. So I also drew a simple black and white outline of a leaf. The pair compliment one another and I love the modern black and white look.

"Autumn is God's way of showing us how beautiful change can be."

Each year, I have the opportunity to join in with a talented group of ladies who each spend time and put their creativity to work in creating new printables to offer up each season. I wanted this combination I designed to be something you could use in your own home, so I'm sharing it today as part of the series. You can print out both and use them together as I have done here, hang them in different areas, or print just the one you like the most. You can find everyone's free printable being shared today at the bottom of this post.
The free printables we offer each year are ideal for being able to affordably change out your decor and keep things new and interesting. There is always a variety of styles and options to choose from, and they can be downloaded for years to come so something that wasn't "you" last year might be perfect now. (You can find links to all the years I've participated here.)

WHAT CAN I DO WITH THESE FREE FALL PRINTABLES?
There are times when you may see printables being offered that interest you, but also leave you wondering what you can actually do with them. You don't have to just print it out on your home printer and place the page inside an 8x10 frame.
Since I designed a set of two coordinating prints this year, I decided to put one in a larger frame with a white mat. This adds interest and makes the quote stand out more than if it were in the smaller frame. I love layers and the combination of a wood frame with the smaller antique gold frame makes this display space seem more collected and styled.
A few other options for using these free prints are:
- Upload the print to somewhere like Vistaprint or Walmart and have it printed as a larger poster size that can be framed or used in another way. Last year, Ashley from Cherished Bliss created a stylish wall hanging using a wood poster hanger from Amazon.
- Display it on a clipboard and lean it against the wall on your home office desk. I've actually create a sort of DIY clipboard in the past to display printables where I've taken a heavy duty piece of chipboard and attached the page with a vintage binder clip at the top
- If you have the availability to convert the PDF into a jpeg image through a program like Photoshop, you can choose a different image size (like 5x7) before it is sent to the printer. You can also choose a different scale for printing the PDF during the print option.
- Use Mod Podge to decoupage the printed page onto a canvas from the craft store. It can be displayed on an easel or hung on the wall.

As always, these prints are available for your personal use and should not be altered and sold for profit in any way.
