Friday Favorites | No. 2

October 19, 2018

Good Friday morning to you!

Where I am in PA, the weather seems to have jumped from early August to late November temperatures in a matter of about two weeks.....and this girl is not loving it!  It has not been a peaceful transition to say the least.

The change in the weather has reminded me that Halloween is quickly approaching, so for my Friday Favorites post today, I wanted to share some of my favorite ideas for incorporating a little of the spooky into your decor.  While I don't normally decorate for the holiday, I do always love to see how others are embracing their inner witches and ghosts.

Have have you been decorating for this upcoming holiday?  Or are you like me and stick to just fall decor until the Christmas decorating season begins?

If you have anything that you think reader's of anderson + grant would enjoy seeing, feel free to send me an email or a message on Facebook for a chance to possibly be featured in an upcoming post.

SOME OF THE BEST HALLOWEEN IDEAS, DIY PROJECTS, and RECIPES

There are some bloggers who do Halloween really well in my opinion, and Kristen from Ella Claire Inspired is one of them.  I am in love with the Halloween decorated tree that she put together as part of her recent home tour.  From the witch's hat and broomsticks to the interesting "ornaments" adorning the tree, this is one really creative way to embrace the holiday without focusing on the scary aspects that many of us try to avoid.

Most of us will likely have young trick-or-treaters coming to our doorsteps in search of candy in a few weeks.  And while there is nothing wrong with handing them a single piece from a bowl, can you imagine how excited they will be to get an entire coffin shaped box filled with treats?  Chloe from Boxwood Avenue must be the hit in her neighborhood giving these out for Halloween!

I think they'd also make really great favors for an adult Halloween party as well.

This beautiful Halloween mantel from Kellie at Nest of Posies shows you don't need a lot of traditional themed decor to be decorated for the holiday.  A few bats, witch's broom, and Halloween chalkboard art are mixed in with a variety of pumpkins to look complete.  Her entire home tour is equally as stunning.

Jamie from So Much Better with Age has designed a stylish Halloween mantel using a black theme -  creatively displayed black bats, crows, a feather wreath, and a gorgeous black "cobweb" fabric.  This one really makes me want to decorate for Halloween myself!

Isn't this Halloween cake the most festive looking dessert ever?  Kristen shares her incredibly easy tips for making this orange layer cake with black frosting, along with a free printable bat cake topper for the perfect final touch!

Finally, if spooky spiders and skulls Halloween decorating is your thing, then you will love this black and white tablescape created by Michael of Inspired by Charm.  (And by the way, if Kristen is the queen of Halloween decorating, then Michael is the king of tablescapes!  I shared his fall tablescape in last week's Friday Favorites.)  No detail is left unplanned on this holiday table, including the skeleton hands peeking out of the centerpiece.

And just a few more links that I've enjoyed.....
