Free Printable Paint Can Labels

These labels are designed to keep track of important information like the paint color name, the paint sheen, the brand or store where it was purchased, and where the paint was used.

There is a little circle at the top of the label where you can paint a sample of the color to quickly see what is inside.

And at the bottom of the label, record the date that you used the paint so that you can have a good idea when it has reached the end of its shelf life.

The label page can be printed on full sheet shipping label paper and cut apart either with scissors or a paper trimmer.

Print as many copies as you need. Consider at least one extra page that you can keep with a permanent marker next to your paints so you are always ready for decanting into a new can!

Leftover paint label with q-tips and paint can

Q-tips work great for easily adding a little sample of paint at the top of your label. Be sure to store a few of these with your extra labels and marker.

After you fill out your label and add the paint sample, the sticker can be applied to the side of a new paint can purchased at the hardware store or online. They come in gallon, quart, and pint sizes in both metal and plastic. The fresh cans make it easy to clean up your paint collection and get a good, tight seal to keep your leftover paint ready for future touch-ups.

This inventory printable is a handy way to record where paint has been used (whether it be for a room or a DIY project), the paint brand and color names, sheen, color code from the original can (in case you need more paint mixed,) and a space for a painted sample.

Not only is this convenient to see the paint that you have stored at a glance, but it is a nice sheet to take with you to the store when shopping for decor, fabrics, and furniture. You have your home’s entire color palette right there with you.
