Spending a little time once a week planning your outfits for the next seven days will help your mornings run more smoothly and leave you with a few extra minutes to calmly prepare for the day ahead.

Why is this idea only for kids?
A few weeks ago, I mentioned in a post that this year I am trying to fill my life with more joy. Part of finding this joy involves eliminating some stress and worry from my day and filling it with things that will bring happiness. It makes me happy to have a styled outfit to wear, and it makes me even happier to have things planned and not feel rushed.

I have no time in the morning. I'm always rushing around to get ready for work, eat breakfast, pick up the house, and reply to comments and emails that have come in. Fifteen minutes before rushing out the door doesn't give me a whole lot of time to mix and match a great outfit. Normally, what I want is either wrinkled or dirty.
So, to bring a little more joy into my life I've started to set aside time on Sunday afternoon to plan my outfits for the entire week. What needs ironed is ironed. Any accessories are laid out with the outfit. And then everything is hung up in my closet ready to go.
Doing this really encourages me to think and plan what to wear rather than just grab the first easy thing I find. It is one less thing to worry about in the morning, which I love. And it seriously takes such a short amount of time to do all at once rather than every morning.
Planning my outfits for the week is one simple little habit change that leaves me more prepared and a lot more organized for the week ahead.
