How was your weekend, friends? Today is just a quick post to check in with you all. Last week I was subbing at the elementary school in my town everyday, so little time (or energy) was left for blogging. Things are a somewhat behind now, but I didn't want you to think I forgot about you! (I did however forget about my favorites post on Friday.)
Both Saturday and Sunday were nice weather-wise and it felt good to start getting some things accomplished outside. The flower beds need a lot of work and I'm just getting started.
This happy looking picture was posted to my Instagram page yesterday......
But when you zoom out, things don't look quite as bright. The poor little birds can't even take a bath because the winter weather tipped the bird bath! Typically I don't enjoy showing the dirty before pictures like this, but I'm trying to keep it real here. The daffodils look great, though, don't they?!?!
I don't mind weeding in general, but weeding around tiny little perennial plants like the Black-Eyed-Susans that are just coming up is not my favorite job. The perfectionist in me would rather go into the garden with a big shovel and dig it all up every year. I guess I should plant more bushes in that case.
Because the daffodils bloom behind the house, they normally die before I even remember to even look at them. While this isn't a magazine quality photo arrangement, I was inspired to cut a few of the flowers and bring them indoors yesterday. It was one of those moments you just have to grab when it is in front of you. A simple little arrangement like this can instantly brighten up a room and it smells great, too.
Nothing elaborate....just enough to enjoy the (free) beauty of nature.
What did you find to do the past couple days? Anything to enjoy the simple pleasures of life?
